Andrew Sieff

Andrew Sieff is a composer, pianist, and drummer. My Wish for You, his solo piano release, received notice from pianist George Winston, who stated, “Andrew Sieff’s piano pieces are evocative and soulful.”

Born in New York City and raised in the New York suburb of Oceanside, Long Island, Andrew relished playing his aunt’s piano as a young child. His first music lessons were on the accordion at age eight; at age ten, the trumpet. At fourteen he began drum lessons, and at age fifteen, piano. He started writing music and performing professionally as a drummer and band leader at age sixteen.

Following high school graduation Andrew attended the Manhattan School of Music, studying orchestral percussion. In the midst of his studies at the Manhattan School of Music, he was awarded a Downbeat Magazine Hall of Fame Scholarship for a summer semester at the Berklee College of Music, where he studied drumming with Alan Dawson. He later attended UCLA, and completed his academic musical studies at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, graduating with honors. Beyond his academic studies, Andrew has studied privately with pianist Art Lande, and master drummers Elvin Jones, Bob Moses, and Paul Wertico.

Andrew lives in Columbia, Missouri. In addition to his life-long enthrallment with music, he cherishes his relationship with the natural world.
